Hello COOPER BEAMAN,

We have updated your service request (SR01053187) and the following comments were added for your review:

2025-07-21 13:42:06 PDT - THOMAS BAILEY (Comments (Between Staff and Customer))

Thank you Cooper, confirming receipt. Since you appealed your disqualification based on procedural error and possible violations of university non-discrimination policies, your appeals will be reviewed separately through the following procedures:
1. Your appeal based on procedural error was forwarded to the Neuroscience IDP last week. Per Standards & Procedures, the chair of the program will provide a written response to your allegations within 15 business days. You will receive a copy of the chair's response. The Dean of DGE will then review your statement and Chair's response and make a final decision on the appeal within a further 15 business days.
2. Since you have already contacted ADA/504 and the DPO office about your appeal based on possible violation of university non-discrimination policies, this appeal will be held in abeyance while ADA/504 and DPO complete their process. Please keep us updated on whether either office decides to investigate your case. The steps following the completion of any investigations are set out on p.39 of Standards & Procedures: https://grad.ucla.edu/gasaa/library/spfgs.pdf
One other thing... in your procedural error appeal, you reference specific paragraph numbers ("1.1") and emails. I don't see any additional documents uploaded to the SN ticket aside from your completed appeals form, so I wanted to confirm whether these were omitted from the submission by mistake? If you'd like the Dean to review these materials, please upload them to the ticket.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Thanks,
Tom
